I suppose this was meant to be a reply to the other thread. Either way I agree with hovertim that you should build a griffon first to understand how these things work. I built one when I was 14 and it gave me a perfect basis for making hovercraft. I am 19 now and I can build them out of nothing.

How do I keep my bag skirt from taking on water? The first craft I built had holes in the bag on the inside so air could be pushed under the craft for lift. This resulted in water (and rocks) getting into the skirt. How can I keep this from happening? Should I totally seal off the skirt and force air in the planum chamber a different way? If so how?
I have two ideas on how to fix this problem, but I don't know if either will work:
1. Put very small holes in the bottom of the bag somewhat toward the inside to force the water out and direct air into the plenum chamber.
2. Split the air from the lift motor and direct some directly into the plenum chanmer and the rest into the bag?
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
-Alex

the second one is a good idea out of interest what material are you using for your skirt putting small hole may upset the airflow as the air will take the least path of reistance for reaserch see http://www.model-hovercraft.com/2000tdx/2000tdxhullplan1.html also http://www.rc-hovercraft.co.uk/infoframes.html
