Water Pump Pulse

Can anybody tell me if it is ok to drill the cover on the top of a wt257
carby and tap in a nipple to run a water pump? The grey coil is in the
way of tapping the inlet manifold. Otherwise i will move the coil.

You sure can ,there is a indention on the carb plate where you can drill
and tap for a 8x32 fitting . It's the side opposite the fuel pump side
[it has the aluminium cover]
