The 8" water line under my street started leaking on Wednesday evening - water was slowly seeping out of cracks in the asphalt. Thursday afternoon I was in the basement work shop when my wife says something about a flood in the street. I go upstairs and look out the window, then I run back downstairs and grab a boat and radio. I had a few hours of fun while the water department tried to turn off the water. Finally, about 11PM they got the water turned off, and the main was repaired by 2AM.

Your insane Bob but a true boater at heart. Love it.

It looks like the water department took thier time turning off the water to let you have some "play" time.

Good "city at work" photo

:p

I'd do the same thing, but I am never at the right place when things like that happen.

I bet you're happy you weren't sailing IN the basement!

You should have also brought out a Zig-Zag or Reef Racer and did some speed laps! :D

My Super Vee 27 BL was ready, but there wasn't quite enough open water. I did drive my DUKW down the driveway and into the water and back out in the neighbors driveway.

Lol. In England they would close the road off for about 1 week. They could never fix it within 1 day!
Nice little boating pond anyway........ even though it was temporary

to funny...cheap entertainment for the workers...when the watermain broke in-front of my house years ago, the water took the path of least resistance... and into my basement

This is classic! haha Bet that was the first time the water company workers had arrived at a site and found boats navigating the newly formed waterway!

I'm glad the water stayed out of Bob's basement/workshop/drydock.

The Storm Drains regularly plugs in front of my place, but the traffic never reduces speed, they increase to get through it. the water has been deep enough to run boats, but its to dangerous.

Gerald
