This was posted by Chris earlier tonight. A Quad based UAV sniper rifle platform.
For real :-)
Well the Adv isfor real.
I cut this from their web site.
"With gentle vertical take-offs and landings, our UAVs can carry the most sensitive stabilization platforms and Electro Optical / Infra Red (EO/IR) cameras or laser sensors. Furthermore, their superior attitude control makes them ideally suited for carrying weapons, such as automatic rifles or machine guns, in the smallest most stable vehicle package available."
See Chris's Post here and link to their web site (In case you want to buy one).

Why does it seem almost human nature to turn everything into a weapon? What is wrong with our thought process ?
There’s so many better applications UAV

Why does it seem almost human nature to turn everything into a weapon? What is wrong with our thought process? For the same reason I made a catapult from my erector set when I was 5 to launch chunks of metal... weapons are hard-wired into how we think and survive. Boys make weapons out of sticks, and like to throw rocks.
I think this story is totally bogus... I shoot precision rifles, and you must maintain minute of angle (MOA) precision for sniping. The word "sniping" was used... which is a lot different than harassing fire or just plain shooting... sniping has meant using around 1.5 bullets per kill, on average, so it implies the well know phrase "one shot one kill". I just don't see an IMU being able to provide resolution to maintain MOA (1/60th degree) hold on a target at 400 to 1000 meters. I suppose with an uber fancy optical alignment system???
If this system is real, they are puffing themselves up and exaggerating by using the word "sniper". B.S.

I agree with Dean the AUS International is somebodys PipeDream or Scam.
But the Gun Ship in the video pilotfromdenmark found and Neural Robotics, Inc (http://www.neural-robotics.com) are for real.
"The AutoCopter A, outfitted with an AA12 automatic 12-guage machine gun, is tested on the ground, then in the air under manual pilot control, and finally with the flight control system. The AA12 is capable of firing at a rate of 300 rounds/minute. It can also fire FRAG12 grenades, which can penetrate 3/4 inch steel. "
Heres the full video (http://www.neural-robotics.com/Video/Video.html#)

billH117: I would edit out the phrase regarding "packed football stadium". Just my opinion... it is what I would do.

actually it could work quite well as a sniping UAV, but you will had to land on a solid surface, before you can take aim at an object.
