Chuck Anderson CD'd his last TD contest yesterday. (He says) What a mark in soaring history. 40 years of CD'ing at least one contest a year. Can any one match that record? What a wonderful influence Chuck has been to our club (The Coffee Airfoilers) and to soaring in general. I'm proud to call him and his wonderful wife Martha my friends.. Brian Smith

I remember Chuck from the late 70's when I lived in AL. I always looked forward to going to Tullahoma for his contests. He was a force to be reconed with then always flying his own designs.

How do you stop CDing? It gets in the blood.

I believe that I was in attendance at Chuck's first glider contest in 1971 (not his first contest), and I'm sure that I was at his last one yesterday. I was also lucky enough to have attended a few in the intervening years.

It's going to take a lot of work for somebody to fill his shoes. Chuck definitely deserves to sit back in the shade and let somebody else pick up the load.
