Hi - I've been away from RC cars for a while, and I've been flying with an
Aveox brushless motor and wonder if I can use my 7 cell flight packs with an
Aveox Car motor/controller.

Anyone doing likewise?

shouldn't be a problem, you just have to get the 7 cells to fit, so you may
need something like a TC3 with seven slots.

Or just stack 'em. Kinda sucks for CG, but that's how I'm getting 10
cells into my next project. 2 saddle packs of 3 on the bottom and 2 on
top. I'm sure I can entertain myself with a 13t triple on 12 volts :)

G'Day,

I would reckon 10 as he said they were saddle type..... each side would have
3 on the bottom and 2 on top - that's 2 lots of 5 = 10.

Regards,
Brad.

Nope, 10 cells. 2 packs, each with 2 cells on top of 3.

Right now it's not much to look at, just a plain old RC10LSS with HPI
wheels and tires and pretty green batteries. However, I've decided
that the chassis is too flexible, but the suspension doesn't have
enough travel to add an upper deck to stiffen the chassis, so I'm
going to continue the fun with an RS4 chassis. Here's the plan so far:

RS4 Sport 2
HPI 3mm offset wheels with 2mm spacers to widen the chassis to 200mm
X-pattern belted tires (I'm having a bit of trouble keeping non-belted
tires on the wheels due to ballooning right now)
Lightspeed 13t triple
Duratrax Streak ESC (cheap, has traction control, and I've read some
good reviews so I want to give it a shot)
10 3000 mAH NiMH cells

The big, evil battery is only for taking care of cocky nitro guys that
think nothing can beat them ;) I'll usually stick with a 6 cell pack
so I can actually keep the thing in sight for more than 3 seconds. The
10LSS vanishes down the street after less than a second of full
throttle, but then I rarely get to play during the day anymore. I'm
still looking for the right body, but the Murcielago and Saleen S7 are
both high on my list. As long as I can stick it to the ground I'm
happy ;)

If I use a 7 cell pack (say 2400's or 3000 NiMH), what run time could I
expect from the Aveox motor - or even a modified 14 turn?
