I saw an ad for a company that repairs electronic speed controls. I think
it was $20 for any repair. I believe they were in Canada. They repaired
all makes. Any idea of the name of this company? I can't find anything on
the web. Thanks.

I believe I found the guy you're talking about. I have looked at several of
his auctions on E-bay. It's a shop in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. E-mail address
is either:

hiiq@shaw.ca or hi_iqusa@hotmail.com

If this is the correct information, please re-post so everyone knows.

Here is the response to to an email sent to hi_iqusa@hotmail.com

Dear Customer,

Thanks for your E-mail! You can send your ESC to the address
below:

7568 Muirfield Drive

Vancouver, BC

Canada

V5S 2L6

Here are the details of renewing the ESC. About 90%~95% of ESC and receivers
are repairable. The repair cost is US$20.00 (not include shipping). This
price includes renewing every broken components of the ESC except the
following:

1. MOSFET

2. The metal/plastic case of the ESC

3. Wires/cables

4. Sockets or mini-sockets (plugs)

5. ON/OFF switch

Renewing components above might requires additional fees, customer can
provide them and we will install it for free. The Final Price will be quoted
when we checked over your ESC. After the renew process, we will notify the
customer what cause his ESC to become malfunction so he can avoid the same
thing happen again. We will ship back the ESC within 10 days upon receiving.
In addition, we won't charge any fee if we can't repair the ESC/receiver,
but customer still have to pay for shipping.

Before you ship your ESC to us, please pay attention to the points below:

1. When the officers ask you to put a value on your item, please do not
write a high value because Canada's custom will put 7~14% of taxes on your
item, and we are not responsible for that. (We suggest you put a value of
$10.00)

2. Please do not put extra items that have nothing to do with the repairing
because that will increase the weight of your package and you will have to
pay more for shipping.

3. Please do not use a large box if you don't have to, that will increase
your shipping fee.

4. In the classification part, do not write ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL because
the customs will suspect what is inside the package, therefore please just
declare it as "toy parts for repair" or something common for shipping.
**(Remember to write down it is for repair)**

5. Write down our company's name (Hi~iQ Telecom) for the Importer's name to
clarify that it is shipping to a company.

6. In case they open up the box you may want to put a letter in your package
to indicate your item is for repair.
7. Please include your e-mail address somewhere so we can contact you when
we receive your ESC.

Thank you for your co-operation!

If you have more questions, please e-mail us again!

Sincerely,

Connie Chung

My question is: Besides the 5 items pointed out in the beginning of the
email, what else is there to an ESC?
