Hello,

I have just finished to mount an kyosho dodge ram
with a GS15R.

1. Which fuel would you recommend for the break in?

2. Which fuel would you recommend after the break in?

3. Do cars with electric starter start as well as
cars with glow plug and manual starter?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello,

What made you choose a 20% nitro?
From what I have seen there is a price
difference and I would like to know
the major impacts of the nitro % on
the motor.

Regards,

More nitro makes more power and runs cooler (usually).

Bubba
HPI Micro RS4 Viper GTSR- Absolutely not for sale
AE RC10LSS Diablo VT- Maybe for sale
HPI RS4 Sport 2- Wanted, cheap and unbuilt ;)

Plus 20% is the most common fuel found in hobby shops (I think). So you
should always be able to get some if you run out.

Use the same fuel for break-in and running. Its not a good idea to switch
fuelsIn fact, if you MUST switch fuels, its usually recommended that you
perform a 're-break-in' so the engine gets used to the new fuels heat and
lube properties.
Stick with one fuel.
NOT AIRPLANE FUEL.
I recommend Blue thunder, ive also heard good things about trinity and
byrons.

Finally, the only other way to start your dodge ram (QRC?) is by removing
the electric start and installing a pullstart.
Unless your having problems with the electric, i wouldnt do it.
Because of the chassis design - more specifically the axles and diffs below
the chassis plate - you cannot get a starter box or a bump starter in there.

From your experience, the electric starter works well
with this qrc car?
I have not tried it yet.

Dunno. I have the earlier version (field Baja beetle) with pullstart. Dinked
the engine after 1 liter of airplane fuel!
I eventually found this newsgroup, figured out what the hell i was doing,
and got it right...for the most part. Ive been thinking of writing a book
about "What to do wrong with RC cars".
Anyway, For ideas check out my frankenbug:
http://www.wildhobbies.com/readersprojects/frankenbug/
Thats version 2.0
Version 4.0 with .21 engine and tmaxx tires coming very soon!

Anyway, i would suggest to you (from some experience) that kyosho engines
are below par, and that the electric start may outlast the engine itself.
Its not a bad thing though....make all your newbie mistakes on a crappy
kyosho engine then upgrade to somethin' sweet! (just about any other engine
made will be an improvement). The electric start will not work on any other
engine that i know of. Just get a pullstart when your engine craps out.

Also, some cheap tips for fun with your current setup:
1. Bearings anywhere ther are bushings. Bushings BLOW.
2. The front steering knuckles will eventually break. Buy steering knuckles
for a Duatrax Maximum MT/ST/BX now so your ready. The duratrax knuckles are
aluminum, strong, and cheap.
3. fabricate an aluminum strut to tie the front suspenion arm pins together.
If you dont know what im talking about, i'll send a pic.
4. A duratrax Axis/nitroquake fuel tank can easily fit on your chassis with
just a couple drilled holes. Almost doubles your runtime.

Keep my email handy. Im the resident expert on QRC.
