What is the MAIN reason why a servo stopped working?

My servo that controls the 'forward & brake' stopped working on my RT10.
With everything switched on, I was able to move the servo arm easily where
it's supposed to be hard to move.

Does it mean the motor inside is dead?

Thanks.

Any one of loads of reasons .. lack of battery power, battery connection,
signal wire break, power wire break, motor burnt out, broken gears inside.

Most common I reckon is poor connections to receiver and batteries and
broken wires .. ;)

Open up the bottom of the servo. One of the wires may have come unsoldered
or has broken free of the circuit board.

Turned out to be a flat battery (I think so far)

Need to buy more batteries.

Does anyone know if rechargeable battery would be better than standard
battery in terms of long life?

Many thanks,

Yes, most certainly. 1800 mAH NiMH AAs last about twice as long as the
average alkawhatever (sorry, can't spell it ;) cells and you probably
won't have to replace them for 2-3 years. I'm assuming you just need a
receiver pack, but same goes for sub-C packs for electric cars/trucks.
Anyone using disposables for motor packs has more money than they know
what to do with, even in a Micro RS4 that comes with a holder for the
things.

HPI Micro RS4 Viper GTSR- Absolutely not for sale
AE RC10LSS Diablo VT- Maybe for sale
HPI RS4 Sport 2- Wanted, cheap and unbuilt ;)
