In the video Endless Lift 3 Paul Naton demonstrates a way to DS by flying through low pressure pockets in level areas on the frontside of hills.
I found the chance to do that today on a slope I found with big gash in it caused by quarry work. My little Lucia DLG preformed famously in air that otherwise barely kept the plane aloft. I was a blast, although not as powerful as the backside I'm sure.
I had to share this and tell all that you don't have to live close to Parker Mountain or Cape Blanco to enjoy the thrill of DS. I found it a good way to practice maintaining control in a tight circle.
My agile Lucia has been a great light light sloper for me (but not very competitive in HLG contests.) I have built up the joint holding the tail surfaces with carbon and glass.
