For the moment I have to gently put the boat down on whatever is around and hope the props dont get scraped. When its at home it goes in the box it came in, in its packing configuration. Its ineligant and not portable.
I've seen some designs on here which are made of PVC with foam pads. The designs vary so I was wondering what do you guys think is the best sort of stand? Like for when I transport the boat to the lake and stuff.
thanks!

Lets see. A stand ought'a hold the boat without making holes in the hull, disfiguring it (much), and be stable, not fall over if you look at it wrong. After that, it's more or less whatever happens to turn you on, or that you have handy, sort of.
So, that means;
1. No sharp thingys close to the boat/hull/props.
2. Sort of soft, at least in spots, to keep from sanding the paint off the hull.
3. Doesn't tip/turn over easily.
4. Fits inside/on whatever you use to get to the water (truck/car/skateboard?).
Go from there.
I like the idea of a large ice-chest filled with ice and beverages with the stand on top. Only problem is that sometimes I forget the boat, you know?

Have a scroll through this thread from a while ago.
I was blown away by some of the ideas . There's bound to be something to tickle your fancy.
Best regards.

Built this for my Calypso build. A lot more stable than the one the kit provides. The blue felt lining the cradle is folded double, so shouldn't mark the hull. What kind of hull are you building for??

Instead of the blue felt try 3/4 felt weather stripping. It is about 1/4" thick. i also use two wood dowels in between my stands, it looks dicer.
