reef racer 2 upgrade

i'm looking for a way to make my reef racer 2 go faster, but i want to drive on NIMH cells.

can i put in a Mamba set for 1/18 cars??
or is there a other ready set anyone recomand?

When I got my RR2, I immediatly swap receiver/speed control to work with my controller that I use with my stadium truck. With this change I also put in a speed control to could use lipos. The evolite2 2s 7.4 2500mh fits perfectly in the hull and is weights less the original 7.2 1100mh and with the stock motor, I was getting 40 min run time......I have since changed the motor to brushless and its a whole new boat....
