Hi,

I've decided to build a 48" woody to be powered with a Zen or Sikk.
Before I start I would like to know a couple of things.

1. What is the V-angle of the typical 48" woody (also found in the
download section of this site)?

2. How does the hull handle waves in comparison to an offshore deep V
hull of an equivalent size?

3. Since I'm trying to keep a tight budget on this project I've looked
all over for engines and hardware. Can I trust the quality of ebay-only
stores shipping from the far east? They are approx half the price as
typical european stores (I do not claim they are same quality parts).

Thanks for helping out a n00b!

The 48" boat has a 23 degree deadrise which is about the same as most
offshore deep vees, but with the low freeboard it is probably not the
best for big waves. I've never dealt with any of the dealers in the far
east so I can't help you there. You could check out http://zippkits.com/
for some reasonably priced hardware. Doug
