Depending on where you are in the *world*,
Mike Mayhew in Clevedon, UK, may be able to help.
He sells *basic* kits.

Hello,
what type of boats are you interested in?
Nitro, electric, gas, steam????
Nitro as a rule are race or sport race to full out race
electric can be anything just not as fast as Nitro
Do you just want to build a plastic type (static model) or get an R/C type,
or free water?
How much did you want to spend?
how old are you? I don't want to suggest a boat that's for a 16 year old and
your in your 40s!
any other information would help me help you.

Not only that but:
sail, sub, hydro, mono, veep vee, tug, ferry, steamboat, military, pleasure
craft

Almost as fast, but not as much run time. Electric is quieter and arguably,
it's much easy to find a place to run electric.
Costs comparable to both.
