Well, I think the Japanese have a healthy respect for the Missouri, something to do with an important ceremony held there. They love the Yamato, as do most battleship fans, but the Iowa Class was the last of her kind for the near future. Kind of the 'ultimate battleship' which makes the class popular.
I think I'd have made the ship like that gentleman did, but only for storage. I'd have a custom trailer to haul her out to the water. That would look too cool going down the road. Probably cause accidents! :D

Nick,
Yes, I've wondered if they come from Australia's North Coast & wanted to have something larger than the salt crocs who live in the area.
Amazing detail for that size!
But what really impresses me is the club in the UK Portsmouth Model Boat Display Team (http://www.pmbdt.co.uk./) with their large dreadnoughts. Invincible's master put up the link over at RCU.

Here you go folks.. the ultimate in large scale RC from a recent post over at RCU 32' Graf Zeppelin aircraft carrier (http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7593387/anchors_7596723/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#7596723) . It was built using an old sailboat hull & they plan to build a 27' Bismarck - all designed for RC ship combat!!
hey me and a couple of friends have recently compleated a 32 foot WW2 aircraft carrier.
it is based on the planes of Germanys only aircraft carrier teh Graft Zepplin
she is fully working with full RC capabilities but you can also place 2 people inside
here are the stats
Power: 2 Volvo 500 Horce power marine engins, conected to 4 3 bladed skrews
lenght32 feet
width: 10 feet
hight: 23 feet
Armament: 16 × Sk. 15 cm. guns
6× Flak (10.5 cm)
10 × Flak (3.7 cm)
12 × Flak (2.0 cm)
Aircraft carried: Complement of 25
10 × Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighters
5 × Junkers Ju 87 dive bombers
10 × Fieseler Fi 167 torpedo bombers
Am waiting with baited breath to see photos & video of this beast with its air wing in action.
And to think there is already a manned Hood being built in the UK...
Shaun Hendricks
Jun 12, 2008, 12:25 PM
And they'd all look ugly as here in California we are required to have those ugly large ID numbers on the side of any hull larger than 9'...
That would be the scale limit of how large I could go with such a beast... (sigh)
Reid
Jun 12, 2008, 01:17 PM
even if it is unmanned?? WOW that sucks!! and if it is electric powered?? uggghh that ruins all my dreams of CLs and CVEs/CVs in 1/48!!!

CGBob could probably elaborate more on the rules but I believe they have to be visible from a certain distance in standard visibility conditions. You could get away with making them a lighter gray than the paint but how much lighter it would be would be driven by that visibility distance.
At 9', you could put a pair of such warships on a standard Jetski/Waverunner (PWC) trailer though.
