I'm not sure why you can't download the plans since you are a member
here. Were you signed in when you tried to download them? If you pm
your email address to me I can send them to you. Doug

Hi,
Thanks, I now got the plans. For some reason I didn't get access last
time.
I just checked what the plywood costs in the local hardware store and
found that there is a great pricedifference:
-3mm "aviation quality" plywood is not as stock available in more than
150x150cm which costs 105€ (160$)
-4mm normal plywood is very cheap (150 x 240 x 4 is 20€).
Can I build it with this normal quality 4mm plywood?
As the 4mm weighs 4kg per square meter the whole thing would approach
10kg total. Will a stock Zenoah be enough for this vessel? Any guss on
how fast it would be?
What is the weakest link on such a boat for driving in rough waves?
Hull or other parts?
Thank you guys for helping out an entusiastic newbie!

4mm s fairly thick for use on the outside of the boat, I'm not sure if
it would bend around the curves very easily. I'm not sure what is
available there where you live, but I use 3mm luan ply that is
sometimes referred to as door skin. It is very cheap here only about
$13 or so for a 4 foot by 8 foot sheet. I do use high quality birch
plywood for the stringers and bulkheads inside the boat, but a less
expensive ply would probably work ok. As for power that all depends on
how you want to use it and how fast you want to go. This is a big boat.

Thanks Doug for the advise.
I've come to the conclusion that the 72 incher is a little too big for
a first project. The thing is that where I live (in Finland, Helsinki)
I will mostly be driving on the sea, which is why I want something very
seaworthy: deeeep V, long hull, low CoG and tough build. Within these
constraints it should be as fast as possible, obviously :)
Can somebody recommend plans for a ~50" offshore-style woody with a
really deep V?
What is a typical V-hull angle on comercial RC gas boats? Racing
boats/typical woody/offshore? Do the offshore boats handle waves better
than equivalent size racing hulls (i.e. Sigma 51 from Prestwich vs.
Miami).
What do I need to concider if I plan to design and build one myself? My
plan is to use the 72" offshore plans as a model and sort of scale it
down and make it a little more simple. First I would build a cardboard
model to try out and fit the parts.
