Surely this is a lively topic, just like some others on here. Let's have some lively debate: is the sky blue?

NOT where I am just now! Very dull grey with wet stuff coming out of it. There goes tonights flying!

Simular problem around here lately. When the skies are blue I have to work, OT is starting to lose it's appeal despite all the neat toys I have been buying with the $$$. If I can't play with them it becomes a mute point.

I'm in Thermaler's neck of the woods and, at best, this Spring has been at best, a teaser, for good flying weather. Here's hoping it's a little better a little ways south tomorrow for the JR aero tow. And, yes, when not hidden by clouds, the sky is blue here as well.

The sky here on RCgroups was bright, blue, and cheerful. I found the sky on RCSE to be cloudy with muck, useless small talk, rehash, and people who posted just to see themselves talk. Gradually RCSE is getting less and less traffic. The RCSE people are finding RCgroups.

Lately I'm seeing a lot more Loooong garbage threads on RCgroups. Good stuff can still be found, but the ratio of negative BS to useful or fun content is getting worse. I can't help but think it's the influx of the old RCSE crowd I was trying to get away from. RC groups is starting to be used for the same endless pointless banter that killed RCSE as "the place to be".

Hey, we all fall into it. I know I have. But I try to remember the hundreds of people who read RCgroups before I waste their time with spam.

Whoops, guilty again I guess. :o

Mr Dawg:
RCSE has been around for a very long time and has fostered some truly good discussions on topics germain to R/C soaring. I happen to be one the "RCSE crowd" and don't post just to see myself in print. Remember the old Chinese saying: "He who paints with a very broad brush is certainly not a stickler for details and won't sell many pictures".

I tried to check and couldn't tell. The wind was blowing too much dirt in my eyes to see. I tried to rinse them out by jumping in the pool but the water was so cold I passed out. When they pulled me out there was something blue, but it had nothing to do with the sky. :D The only thing I've been flying around here is my kite. It seems like just thinking about planes causes the winds to pick up. I guess that's why I'm building an off road r/c track to have something to do on wind days. Oops, did I just wander off from the thread at hand? I SWEAR I don't have ADD..........look there's a bunny rabbit.... :D

Ditto, and Gordy is much better than the entertainers we have here.
Karlton was even better :D

One of the all-time stories involving Karlton was from several years ago when Karlton and Sal were flaming each other over some trivial issue. Sal wrote a post in which he referred to Karlton as "Charlatan." When he was taken to task, he said that it was an accident -- he had typed in "Karlton" but his spell-checker had changed it!

Yes, on a good day
so why am I getting a plane with blue undersides?

When I am at the field with my sailplanes, the sky is always blue, with just the right touch of white fluffy clouds.

When I am at the field with my sailplanes, the air is clear and clean with the fragrance of spring flowers and a hit of summer.

When I am at the field with my sailplanes, the wind is always at my back, the sun on my face and the breeze exactly as I would wish.

When I am at the field with my sailplanes, the birds are my brothers, my soaring friends of the air, my teachers.

When I am at the field with my sailplanes, all is right with the world, for only a right world could afford me the pleasure, the joy, the euphoria of soaring on high without a sound to disturbe the tranquility.

When I am at the field with my sailplanes, the sky is always blue, with just the right touch of white fluffy clouds.
