I hope this is the correct place to post this.
I have an X-UFO and would like to light it up a bit for night flight. Ideas?
What's the best way to do this?
Can you point me in the right direction?

Is the the X-UFO you have?

If it is, I think it would be great with more lights on it.
These lights from dealextreme are brite, lightweight, and easy to use. They don't have the rubber coating some of the other strip LEDs have which saves a lot of weight. I weighed one of the strips I have and it was only 8 grams (thats the whole 66 LED strip). They are set up for 12V and have the resistors built in. they can be cut with scissors into pieces as small as 3 LEDs. A small 3S lipo of 400 to 800mA will power the strip.

Have fun with your UFO :)

It is the same. I purchased it from HobbyTron. :)
I need some instruction, however, on adding the lights. Where do I connect them. How much soldering is involved in the mod?
Thanks!

Thee are solder pads on the strip to connect wires. Solder on a connector and plug it in to a 12 volt battery. A 3 cell lipo battery works good, and is light weight. For the XUFO, you may need to cut into 15 LED sections and tape them on each corner. Wire the sections together and and solder a connector on the end.

Before I upgraded to the X-3D Brushless Quadrocopter ... I modded my X-UFO ...

The glow wire power tap was directly off of the lipo and the color changing LED was powered off of the X-3D gyro board upgrade.
