Hello guys this is my first time posting on rcgroups but the circumstances left me no choice - i cant find a simple relatively cheap OSD with gps and mper/volt-meter/ There was a good solution on rangevideo.com, but i didnt have the funds back those days, but know it has dissapeared from thier website and i cant find nothing similar ona other web stores, actualy the only OSD for now that i managed to find through google is the dragon OSD from the intelligent flight but it is very complicated for me and i dont need and dont understend why can anyone need a separate chip for actually overlaying the video or what the hell dos thier BOB4 do i forgot. And it costs without the GPS as much as the full solution costed on the rangevideo including gps and sensors, which is a little too much for me now. So what i am asking is - is there any other OSD's on the market (rtf versions, that doesnt require programming and soldering microcontrollers) apart form Dragon OSD? Almost forgot - i need PAL version as i live in Russia ))
Pardon my spelling and grammer as i am not a native englishspeaker :)

Yes - for $219 you can do this:
Terry Hitt's OSD available from Sparkfun.com here for $129:
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8421
And this is plug-and-play with Parallax.com GPS for $90:
http://www.parallax.com/Store/Sensors/CompassGPS/tabid/173/CategoryID/48/List/0/Level/a/ProductID/396/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName%2cProductName
The OSD is designed for simple plug and play with that GPS.
I've been playing with Terry's OSD, and can say I'm highly impressed.
It auto-detects PAL also. It has a real-time clock that you program by plugging a PS2 keyboard into the OSD, as well as setup of many other parameters. The instructions are clear.
Only drawback for you: it doesn't have direct voltage/current sensing. If you have this information from another system, the data can be added via simple UART from another microcontroller.

Shift,
this is the OSD you meant from Range Video
http://www.intelligentflight.com.au/solutions_osd.aspx
IF is the original supplier of this OSD (by the way also of the Dragon OSD).
Here also a good OSD with a 50A current sensor:

I am in process of making one (GPS VIDEO OVERLAY BOARD), here is the link to OSD chip dev board.

I just received my OSD PCBS, I can share just one with you, MAX7456 supports PAL too. You can interface this chip by using SPI port, good for you. I am working on complete solution (OSD chip plus GPS packet decoding). User can just plug in GPS receiver and it all ready to go.
If you are interested please PM me, I will let you know all detalis.

Thanks, just what i was looking for! But when i started this thread it seemed to me that this OSD is permanently out of stock on IF (as well as on rangevideo.com) due to Dragon OSD.

Hi Shift,
just with today IF OSD is in stock again:

By the way, if you've very special questions about the IF OSD, Thomas Scherrer from Denmark is the original developer:
