Hey R/C Gurus,

As many of you know I'm an old timer that recently got back into R/C cars. I
am a handicapped 4' 5" dwarf with spinal and leg problems and I use canes
and a scooter to get around..

In 2001, I started out with a Traxxas-Nitro 4 Tec then in 2002 I got a
Traxxas Rustler and I love the Electric EZ Start. Then I bought an OFNA 1/8
scale GT Ultra LX and a starter box and another starter box. The 1/8 scale
was nothing but a physical and mental nightmare. It never ran right and had
fuel pressure problems from the beginnings. I gave it to my fellow R/C buddy
so he could try to get it running ( in exchange he will assemble any kits
that I buy.) .

We have started a Club here in Wichita Falls, TX and we already have a 250'
dirt oval with a 250 ' off road track too. My R/C buddy has recommended that
I try Electrics R/C Cars again and start out with electric truck. Electrics
can be very fast as he showed me his Associated TC 3 with 6 cells and a
twelve turn motor and it was as fast as any of the gas TC on the little LHS
Track.

One of other LHS says that he is selling quite a few electric on road and
off road cars and trucks

I've decided instead of getting a RC10GT of getting a Electric RC10T3 team
Model with a couple of 2400 battery packs and one stock and One modified
motor.

I've decided against the FACTORY TEAM model (i.e. FT) because I will be
learning to drive electrics all over and all of the graphite on the FT is
expensive and breakable.

However someone suggested a Losi XXXT Truck (don't know the exact name )
Should I get a LOSI kit instead?????

Final Question

Should I get a mid level Losi Electric Truck or an Associated TC3 Team Model
????

Sorry for the long post !

A friend of mine has an Associated T3 and a Losi XXXT. He says the T3 turns
a little better and the XXXT handles the rough a little better. I have a T3
and have used the stock composite parts and also the graphite parts. I can
not see any more breakage from the graphite parts as opposed to the stock
parts. The graphite parts are physically stiffer, which is a good thing.
Most of the hardcore guys at my track run Losi, but I think that is
basically going with the crowd. Bikeman348

This was brought up on a forum I read - somewhat local track. Check it
out for some opinions.

Good move. You dont need graphite. Just get a standard team kit and you're
as good as gold. The factory team is just overkill for those who have the
money :) I race a TC3 racer and it's just as fast as the factory team
tc3s... and I dont have to worry about bending aluminum or shorting my
battery out on the drive shaft or battery holddown.

Get the team associated unless you generally crave the look of the XXXT.
I've driven a few Losi's and my opinion is that OUT OF THE BOX
CONFIGURATION, the associted kits drive better with less tweaking. The
losi's are just as good (each has advantages and disadvantages) but I think
the stock setup for associated works better out of the box. The losi's need
a little tweaking and getting used to. I drove a XXX buggy configured as
recommended out of the box, and it pushed like mad. Also, the stock tires
sucked. If you get used to a car that pushes badly you might as well get
used to slower lap times too. The XXX's can be super fast when set up
correctly, but the B3 and T3 I think are a little easier to get dialed in,
and usually come with better stock tires (used to be bowties?).

Ultimately though it comes down to what is most common at your track. This
means alot, because if you break something and your car isn't common in your
area, you are going to be out of luck when it comes to borrowing or buying a
part at the track (which is inevitable in racing).

I think you'll enjoy the simplicity and convenience of electric.
