Ed you still debating witch boat to get? i still say the nirvana, and save your cash to build your USOM ounce i get my new one built. i can sell ya the hull, and you can start building it up. remember you can race against my nirvana, and have a even playing field. i really do think a USOM will still out sail a seawind. plus no other seawind to race against, so it still would be a mismatch of a race.
the club only races ounce a week, but we can race the other 6 days at walden pond, or mure lake. just a thought.

You should listen to doomracing advice, there is no better way then to learn from someone that has experience, racing and practicing your sailing skills with others that are better then you. They can teach you far more then just trying to guide you sailboat on your own. Good luck to you.

Prices are from this site:

Just a quick reference, I'm sure he can find cheaper prices, but the service is supposed to be next to none, since he sails what he sells.

sloboat and i have sailed my nirvana in winds that would have made sailing my USOM a challange. granted it was a hand full also in the big gusts, but it sailed fantasticaly. in my opinion it's the best bang for the buck as a first boat. there are things i'll change on it, but it's realy a fantastic boat.

Ed ya made the jump. glad to here it. CONGRATS!!!!! look forward to see ing it sail. it's race day tomorrow. you up to it? you can see how she sails with the USOM's. i here yer stopping buy to chat with mom tomorrow. i'll see ya then.

not a problem Bilge. get one you won't be disappointed with one.
well i did better than normal. took a second, and a few thirds. the wind was almost nonexistant, but did much better than normal. all in all it was a great day at the pond.

Almost anyone can sail in good wind doom, (notice I said almost) LOL. :o It takes a better sailor to squeeze movement out of every gentle breeze and puff of wind you get. Your day at the pond was a great day doom, keep giving your competition a real good look of your stern, when you're racing them, LOL. ;)
