Yea, the only thing you need for this plane is a receiver and you're ready to go. Just wondering if i should get this one or wait for the Electrifly L-39 to come back in stock at towerhobbies

The title states very clear at HC site
"AT Blue Angel F/A-18C ARF Brushless Jet'
Whilst the color may look the same but the version
of the jet at Hobby Lobby is clearly the late F-18 E, not C

And for parkflying, I like the F/A-18 C version better.

Look at the mains. The way they trail aft. Scale wire gear. Whoda'thunkit?

Also, the servos are mounted in the wings and not bellcranked like the model Hobby Lobby sells.

Looks neat. Wish it had full flying stabs.

at first glance it looks like the HL F-18 but its not. notice its a older F-18, not the super hornet like HL's. you can tell by the inlets and the strakes, as well as the wings and stabs. :) i like it alot more accualy. and it has 2 servos for the ailerons. :)

I was affraid you might say something like that. I don't like the fact that there aren't any replacement parts that i can see.

Don't forget to give us all of the info after your first flight! Do you own any other EDF's that you can compare it to?

Excellent! Can't wait to hear your thought...I have a few concerns that some of you might be able to answer for me. In your experience...do these jets require a long taxi in order to gain enough speed to take off using the stock setup? I dont have a designated field in the area so the best i can to do for a runway is short grass. Is this going to be a problem?

I can't be sure for this kit, but since it bares such a striking similarity to the HL F-18E. Which I can speak for...

My experience with rogging on grass with the HL 18 is 50/50.

Even in short grass, it bounces quite alot on departure. Getting lift-off speed seems like it'd be impossible and takes forever.

The first time I tried I got a handsome cartwheel for the effort. Which only cost two wingtips and a crushed nose cone.

The second time I tried grass. It got off the ground, but it was 'head banging' all the way down the field. I think it was a lucky bounce at speed that got it into the air.

I'd recommend sticking to pavement if you can. If not? I don't know. Maybe you should salt peter a 6' X 100' stretch of wild grass now, so the grass will get out of the way by the time your plane gets here. :)

Good advice, thanks! My next question is....where do you think I could find replacement parts for this plane. It is made by Art Tech and there is an art tech website but i don't see any replacement parts for it. Does anyone have experience with Art Tech Planes?

Mostlikey it will have "crap" servos in it, so be prepared to replace them. I've had a few art-techs that were both good and bad.

why do you say that? Have you flown a plane with them? I have one and it does not seem that much different than a conventional setup. Now if you go overboard with the throws then yea it will be sensitive as will a conventional setup.

I just finished building this plane.I haven't flown it yet because 20 mph winds for a few days. I made a change. I anchored the elevator push rods to the horizontal stabs with little eye hooks that I made. This fixes the elevator flutter problem. Has anybody here flown one of these yet and what do you think ? I think the plane will fly fine. The instructions were poor, the software is useless. It seems to have plenty of power. Anybody know what the battery flight time is?
