Hello

I hope somebody can help me...

I have a Optic 6 transmitter and a USB cable for FMS sim. My problem is that i get the PPM in the game-controller menu in Vista but no signal from my Optic 6 transmitter. Do the Optic 6 need a special setup for Simulator.

Please let me know what to do...

Best regards

Casper

A couple of things. If its the same Optic 6 that I googled, then it should be compatible with FMS (and any sim that supports a standard windows joystick) assuming the TX outputs PPm and not PCM signals from its trainer port.

However, the recommended interface shown on the Sussex model site ( http://www.sussex-model-centre.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=20952 ) states

Specifications:
Transmitter Requirements - Transmitter with trainer socket or DIN trainer Cord
Hardware Requirements - PC with USB Port
Software Requirements - Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and FMS Flight Simulator

So it would appear that its not supported under Vista.

The reason could be related to the DLL file that FMS conflicts with (not sure if it needs one that is missing from Vista, or the Vista version isn't compatible with FMS code - do a search of this forum as its been covered before)

Malc,

I am surprised that you are recommending Casper this interface (he didn't even mention that he's in the UK)!

Not only is it "generic" Chinese crap, see my earlier posts:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8075283&postcount=12
but wasting 19 quids on it is lame. With today exchange rate, UK£ 18.99 = 37.50 US$. For this chunk of cash, one can buy much better 10-bit fully configurable and firmware upgradeable interface.

Boris,

I'm not recommending it. I googled his TX, first hit took me to Sussex-models, then the link under interface for FMS on that page took me to that sim as being the one sussex models recommend.

Caspa hasn't stated where in the world he lives, so its a bit hard to recommend any supplier, but I agree if he is in the states then he would be better off buying one of milehigh wings interfaces ;)

Hello guys

I am from Denmark. The interface is the one you google.

What to do is still the question. I think i will go for real flight sim.
