Hey

Im building a sailplane and want to use some old 7.2v lipo packs to power it.

Im building a simple reg circuit with a 7805 to drop the voltage down to 5v, anyway I wanted to included a low voltage warning, (maybe an LED or buzzer). Does anyone have any ideas about how I can do this?

I was thinking about using zener diodes? Does anyone have any plans?

thanks

Joe

You can check out the little regulator I made:

It uses a little comparator and a couple 1% resistors to turn on an LED below 6.1 volts.

Hi, Joe

a very simple and inexpensive :) checker can be done around a MC34065 P5 (TO92 µP reset circuit ) reset IC ; see Datasheet for apps ...

I use this. http://www.webx.dk/rc/lipoly/low-volt-alarm.htm Can be probably modded for your needs.

Hi Joe.. I wouldn't use the 7805, it's not good from 7.2V when the battery volts drop a bit, use the LM2940CT, this one is a Low dropout type, you'll get better runtime from your 7.2V lipo.

Ah.. spotted MX's regulator uses this reg too
