I'm considering buying Realflight G4 and have a few questions.
-If I buy a used copy from someone I need to make sure they "unregister" and uninstall it, right? If this is done is it fairly easy to transfer ownership?
-Does it properly support widescreen resolutions? Also, does it work ok with a dual monitor setup (displayed on only ONE monitor, of course)
-Can you easily move it between computers by simply hooking up the controller? I want to use it on my desktop and laptop if possible.
Thanks,
M

Yes, they just need to apply to reset the password ... http://www.gpsoftware.com/kb/q01-1032.htm

It will support any resolution your system is capable of supporting (the recommended system specification is ... http://www.realflight.com/requirements/g4_system.html) With regards dual monitor, it does work but given the nature of the software your model will be in the "join" between the two monitors.

Yes.

I had G4 for a while ... it is a great sim ... but I ended up eBaying it and now I use a $18 eSky USB controller with $40 Clearview and am pretty much just as happy ...

Yeah, I have clearview now and using an esky controller. Works well, but I'm having a hard time finding the plane models i want. Tried the G4 demo at LHS and saw they were all in there, as well as some pretty cool features. One thing that's neat is the way heli rotor blades have some specular sheen which makes them read much more clearly.
I'm not 100% sure i want to spend the $$ on G4 yet though.

Guess it just depends on what you prefer ... I think Clearview and even FMS are great for training, but G4 is much cooler ...

The answer is YES to both questions.
My wife has a wide screen laptop. Real Flight G4 displays great on the widescreen, filling all around to the edges correctly with no distortion. And the other question, sure I just unplug my RF controller from my computer and plug it into my wife's computer - - no problems. Sometimes I use my computer and sometimes her, switching back and forth between computers using the same RF controller and the same setup disc (purchased one copy of RealFlight and installed on both computers).

I have flown for 35 years. I've owned several simulators. I bought the G4 to try helis and hovering a plane. My old computer was outdated in 2004 so when I got a new one this year I made sure it had a good video card and enough processor power that could run the simulators.
I find myself just flying for fun on the G4. It feels like flying a real plane. Most simulators don't fool my brain but this one comes close. The graphics are more complex and look more realistic than the other simulators I have seen.
I've had a few minor questions but have been impressed with the performance. I use it most every day.
