I don't know if it will come out but here's a pic of my latest scratch building effort, a Legionair 100...

She flys nicely. The model came out light and I kept the tips light on purpose. Longest flight in 2 outings is 31 mnutes. I had a 140 inch version, but lost it to radio failure...framed a new outbaord wing panel for the new 140 this evening...

did you draw up any plans for it, or is it still upstairs (head)?

It's a Nostalgia legal model from the 70's. It has a very thin airfoil, modified Clark Y, and aluminum tubing for main panel wing spars and tail boom. The pod's Kevlar, CF, and glass. Ray Hayes of Skybench Aerotech has my plug and is trying to get them kitted again. I knew the designer, and flew with him a lot. I built several of his models that he flew in those days. It will move across the sky pretty well, too. I called the big one my "Tina Turner" model. Might be an old design, but she still has great legs! They are really beautiful models and fly and thermal very well.

I know that you will be C.D.ing the contest on Feb 1st. Does that mean that we wont see that bird fly. If so that will be a shame. I was planning on comming up with my gentle lady and entering the RES contest just for grins. It will be my first contest ever so I probably wont do so well but I will at least get my feet wet. I will probably spent most of the day laughing at myself but what the he**......if I cant laugh at myself I might as well be dead.
See you on the 1st
