Hi there everyone,

For a while now I've had the PLD-PGMS programmable strobe system but I've never thought to mention it to the night-flying crowd (most was talking with scale people).

The PLD-PGMS gives you 3 LED strobe channels which can be programmed with up to 5 on/off pulse timing pairs and can be programmed via your PC with a serial port adapter (PLD-SPI-001). Each pulse can be set to be between 1 and 16,000mS long.

The PGMS is plugged into a spare receiver channel and can be turned on/off by the TX channel.

Programming the PGMS is a case of going into your Windows Hyperterminal program (or linux minicom / gtkterm etc), plugging the PGMS into the programmer and then providing your pulse sequence strings as such as follows;

c2-200,200,1000,500,1000,500,100,100

That would generate a pulse sequence of:
200mS on, 200mS off
1000mS on, 500mS off
1000mS on, 500mS off
100mS on, 100mS off

Each LED strobe channel can switch up to 200mA of current.

Power for the LEDs is provided from an external battery pack so as to not deplete the receiver pack (which can overload the BEC in a lot of speed controllers if you're doing electric flight). I personally use a 2S270mA or similar lipo.

By default the PGMS is supplied with a simple navigation type strobing setup;

Ch 1 - constantly on
Ch 2 - 1 second on, 1 second off
Ch 3 - 4 short pulses followed by a 1 second off period

The PGMS package comes with four (4) two pin fly-leads (200mm long), so all you have to do is wire up your LED + resistors to suit your power pack.
