So my housemate has flown planes for a while, and he just got back into it. I went out with him one time and was pretty much hooked. A little bit later I picked up this plane off of cragslist.

I do not know what it is, but the engine is a Veco 61 which was only made until '73 and it has Kraft radio equipment in it that had a inspection sheet dated '72. So I am assuming that this plane was built around 1972, which pre-dates me by about 14 years.

It had some CG issues, but those have been taken care of and I am learning to fly on her. I replaced all the electronics with a Spektrum transmitter and receiver and some Futaba servos. So far, I am having a ball learning how to fly on this plane.

Here are some pictures I took in my backyard earlier today. I will try to get some flying pictures later this week if the weather holds up.

Oo 1972 you can get collector plates for that aircraft and engine ;) Nice plane but not exactly a trainer... Allfat, if your just learning to fly, something you might consider, is getting a flight sim for your computer... I have been flying for years, but I got one a couple of months ago.. And I can really see how one of these would help someone to fly.. Loaded it on my dads comp, and know he has learned how to fly (still wouldn't trust him with my planes ;) ) but he does have a grasp of it... Might be something to think about...

I actually do have one on my computer. It is really helping me to get used to the controls more. Thanks for the tip though!
