Ropanach, we have only one hobby shop left that's been around since I was a kid in our area, and it's called Field's Hobbies. It is still owned and operated by members of the same family that founded it in the 1940's. :)
All the rest are newbies, but the fact that we have any at all is considered a blessing---. :D
I can still remember the old hobby shops, with the airplanes hanging from the ceilings, trains under glass along the walls, etc. What a contrast to the big box stores of today---. ;)

This shop has been around for many years, the first time I was there was the late 60's, don't know if it is the same famly but the walls are covered with old patrs for boats, didn't see any of them on the web site though, Wile I was there I bought a hobby paint mixer, hadn't seen one before or i just over looked them some were else, and it works great for those small tester paint bottles.

Ropanach, is the brand name "Robark" or something like that? :p :p
I have one that runs on 4 "D" batteries, and works great for mixing those little bottles. ;)

Next time you're in the general area of Philadelphia or Allentown, PA you need to visit Penn Valley Hobbies (http://w ww.pennvalleyhobbycenter.com/). Noah used to shop there, Ben Franklin, and George Washington.
Absolutely fantastic. It's like walking back into the 1950's for atmosphere and hospitality, and they have everything you can imagine both new and old.
Right at the top of my "must visit" hobby shops.

Too bad that there are so few of these places left---. :(
For most, their only choice is Sprawl-Mart---.

This unit is 110v. the name is close, Robart hobby shaker, and it doesn't take long on most paints, works great for mixing paints up for my air brush, but some lacker will foma up It my shake just a little to hard, but it might be the thinner I am useing.

Ropanach, that's it! :)
They made a version with a 110v power pack too, though mine uses four "C" batteries. ;)
Works like a champ, except my rubber strap to tie the bottles to the cradle dried out and broke, so I now use thick rubber bands. :D

this one is quite dry as well, don't know how long it sat on the shelf before I came along, I think I need to get some rubber bands in stock.
