Are there many people out there who fly helis with the Hitec Eclipse 7 radio
? I recently got my first heli (Shuttle SXX) but have not flown it yet. I
have an Eclipse 7 that I've been using for some time with fixed will
aircraft and was planning on using it for my heli as well. To my
understanding it has all the mixing required to fly the SXX, 120° CCPM,
5-point throttle and pitch curves etc. Is there any reason why I should not
use the Eclipse 7 ? I've also been considering getting a new radio for the
heli, either a Futaba FF9 or a JR X-3810. What would I benefit from using
one of these two compared to the Eclipse (other than PCM) ?

Use the Eclipse 7. Save the money for heli replacement parts. I've
been using it with a Caliber this year. Excellent radio, especially if
you're already used to all the switch and knob functions.

I've been looking at replacing a JR XF622 for a little while now and I've
been looking at the Eclipse. I've read mostly good things about it with
either Helis and Fixed wing. It does have all the bells and whistles that
you will want and need for the Shuttle. Good luck in flying.

But does it have THE most important "function"? That being the ability to
transmit in PCM mode?

I know you already have the Eclipse, but for the others considering one.. is
it better value than the JR X-378 ?
I already have the JR. Just wondering if the Hitec is better value ?
