Went to look at some Alfa models today, and they had gone up over 15% in the course of an evening! F-86 Sabre went from $154 (IIRC) to $179.90. And it's not just the Alfa's; the price jumps are all across the board. I thought FSK kits were expensive before. Now ... forget about it.
Wish I'd used that 20% coupon we got in the mail last week prior to today. Think I'll just hang onto the money now ... too rich for my blood, sadly. Especially with the local sales tax.
Definitely going to be sending the majority of my business to NewCreations-RC.com now ... $144.70 for the FSK Spitfire at New Creations vs. $189.90 at Hobby Lobby. 31% higher at H/L. That's just absurd.

Yeah, I know they're running a business, and I can see price jumps the way things are going at the pumps, BUT to raise the price that much? And even on "old" in stock? New stock that's on order I can understand, like the Alfa P-51B, but I was going to press the button on the LA-7, that's still instock, till I seen the price, $30 more. I hate to say it, but H-L just priced themselve's out of my range. Even with the 20% sales they have, the price for the LA-7 would be $119.20. Yes they have GREAT items on site, and great customer service, but other things come first.

Hi Jay, I understand completely the problem you and H-L are having, I work for a British owned company, and the dollar to pound exchange rate right now is almost 2 to 1, and I was expecting an increase, just not that much. Just sticker shock I guess. As stated by another person in the forums, this hobby is my get away from the world hiding place...but it looks like the real world has slipped it's nasty fingers into the door frame, and is letting in the harsh light of the real world. I guess I'll be saving longer to get anything I want from now on.

I think this is actually a good thing...maybe there will be more american made products on the hobby market.
