Does it stand for Fairly New Guy ?
Maybe the answer should be number 1 in your FAQ ;)

Almost :-)

FNG is the term Bob Mason (helicopter pilot/repentant drugs runner/author)
used to describe new intakes into Vietnam during the war.

BTW, for those that don't know, Mr. Mason authored a book titled "Chicken
Hawk". It chronicals his military career from primary helicopter flight
training thru his tour in Vietnam and after. The ending of the book is a
downer but the stories of his flight missions during the war are great reading.

I especially enjoyed the opening chapters describing his flight training.
Anyone whos learned to fly a helicopter, full size or RC, will completely
empathize with him. It's hilarious.

Fly Safe,
Steve R.

An excellent book Steve. I was pleased to hear the Bob Mason "got out from
under" regarding flying drugs hither and thither too. He's a regular
"commentator" on the Discovery channel on all things helicopter in Vietnam
these days.

thanks Steve. Sounds like a book I might like to read. All I seem to read as
far as I can remember are factual bloody information books and websites on
computers, nice cars and r/c helicopters. Would be nice to get into a good
story.
