I don't see much discuss on the cularis (big brother to the EZG) on this thermal forum. Is it just too much foam (low brow) or does it have performance or structural limitations?

I currently fly a EZG and a RES wood 2 meter (Cirrus) which I fly off a winch and enjoy thermal hunting very much. My electrics are not making it to the feild as much and some days not at all.

I am considering a full house to keep things interesting and considering the Cularis. The price is right but it does not get much discussion in the forum. A search revealed only a handfull of posts on the sailplane only verson, although the electric version has several build threads.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to it thermalling ability and suitability as a first full house?

Thanks.

For some reason, the Cularis is in the Foamies section. There's a huge thread on Constructions Tips, etc.

BTW, I like mine. Good ship for learning full house setup's.

Thanks for your input Guz. I saw that thread and read some of it. It is a long one. A lot of it dealt with the powered versions but few posts concerned the glider only version. Seemed to get good marks although a few concerns.

I was wondering if some sailplane flyers found in this forum might have some thoughts beyonds those in the foam forum. I am of the opinion that the sailplane skill level in this sailplane forum is very high and best able to understand the quality/characteristics of the cularis and how it might compare to other full house ships.

Thanks.

I competed against one for 4 months. I got to fly it twice.

I am impressed. Great model. I will probably buy one next time I am in the market.

Flying wise, it is its wind penetration ability that impresses. It can fly in a wide range of conditions. On top of that you get the foam benefits and draw backs.
