Posts: 267 Discussion - New Giant Scale Retracts
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of you may know us ( SouthEast Model Products), we have been producing air operated micro retracts for about 4 years now. We now have developed a new line of Giant Scale retracts. The first 2 are 90 degree rotating, main gear and nose gears. Our rotating retracts are different from other manufactures in that we use a miter gear to do the rotation rather than a drag link. There is absolutly no " SLOP" in our gear mechanism in the rotation or the actuator block. Our retracts have positive up & down locks. Also by using a miter gear, conversion to a nose gear is simple, We just put a
control arm on the stationary gear mounted on the side plate. Rotating the control arm, rotates the miter gears, which inturn rotates the strut. The struts are intergal to the retract and of course are shock absorbing. Options for the struts are the sissors, yoke's and brakes. The 1500 series are dropin to all the Ziroli Giant scale planes, and several of the inported Giant scale ARF's. I will provide the proper mounting holes for the given model. Any questions, fell free to contact me. Availibility is 2 to 4 weeks.
