Has anyone been able to get Castle Link V3.05 to work with Windows ME.
The software loaded, and did the reflash on the Link. This made it a HID device. Now the software has the 2 red lights and no connection to the link.
Any idea's on a way to get it to work with Windows ME.
The laptop I use it on is only 233mhz, so really don't want to change the Windows version. Thanks

The problem is with ME'S HID implementation. This was somewhat fixed in updates published by Microsoft. You will need to search the web for all of the ME updates. You cannot get them from Microsoft because they no longer support ME.
Even with all the updates ME might not work. We know the link will work with ME after a clean install with all of Microsoft's ME updates. However, with one of the more problematic of Microsoft's OS, it is more than likely pretty corrupt after 10 years.

You could try an upgrade to Windows 98 or 2000 Pro. I have a machine with W2K and updates are still being made for it. I'm not sure how it will do at 233 MHz, but I ran it on an 800 MHz with no trouble and I think even at 450 MHz before that.
Now if only it was worthwhile for them to make a linux version too.

I used to run my laptop on Windows 98. Me is just so much more stable for me. Never locks up.
In the mean time I just had the hobby shop setup my Castle bec voltage.
I have run some HID test programs and they all detect and communicate with the Castle Link. I think the Castle Software should be able to if they can.
