Hello all,

I just installed the magnetic RPM sensor on my Trex500 with the main gear that has two spots for the magnets. I've set the magnet count to two and it still reads zero. Please help!

I haven't installed my magnets yet, but according to the manual, there are a couple of problems with your installation..

#1- the red line on the magnet is supposed to be opposite the sensor.

#2- the flat side of the sensor is supposed to be parallel to the magnet. You are setup perpendicular to the magnet.

A shot of the sensor install from the manual is attached. If you don't have a manual, you can download from EagleTree's website.

Thanks! Yeah, I had a hard time finding the install info so I winged it. It's reading now but only shows 122 steady RPM. This is on my Trex heli and should show around 2500-2800 RPM.

Hi Pootman-
Glad I could at least help get you started!

Were you able to flip the magnets over (striped side down)?

What kind of clearance do you think you have between the sensor and the magnets now? In the pics it looks kind of large, but scale is hard to judge in a pic :-)

Were you able to download the manual, or should I send you a link, or the manual? My email is coronabeltdrive@sbcglobal.net

In any case, please let us know how it turns out!

the gap was around 2.5mm so I moved it and it's now around 1.5mm. I also found the problem. Under custom hardware options I had somehow checked an option for RPM sensors (can't remember the exact phrase of that option. I think it was refined results or something like that). anyhow, when I unchecked it the RPM readings started working like a charm! Thanks again.
