I have the Seagull Wireless Dashboard Flight System recorder set up on a TRex 600n and am having some difficulties getting the servo logging setup to work properly. Here is how I have it set up and what I am trying to do..

I have the throttle position Y harness set up in between the gov and the throttle servo so I can see how the gov is reacting to load. This is working fine. The next part is not.

I have a Y harness in between a CSM CarbSmart (in flight closed loop mixture control) and the servo it controls. Next I tell the Model Setup that I have throttle and elevator but not ail/rud. I have it on the Elevator position with back stick being the lean position and full forward stick being the rich position. When I set it up it works perfectly on the Live Mode, the elevator stick follows precisely what the mixture servo is doing. When I go to tell the recorder what parameters I want to record I check the Throttle parameter and the Elevator parameter, but after I have put a check beside these two parameters, hit OK and it downloads to the flight Recorder what I want to log, the next time I open it up the throttle and rudder are checked, not throttle/elevator.

So, I decided that sense it really wants to record throttle/rudder that I would tell it that I do not have ail/elv but only thrt/rud. I then go and set it up with left rudder being lean, right rich. Next I tell the recorder to record thrt/rud and hit OK to download to the recorder and wouldn't you know it the next time I open up recorded parameters thrt/elev are checked! It doe not matter that I tell it that I DO NOT have thrt/elev, but thrt/rud and it still trys to record thrt/elev.

What am I doing wrong?

Joey-
It might not be you.. I took my first try at servo position recording over the weekend, and I saw the same thing on V6.33 s/w.

In my case it did record what I told it to before downloading.

I am trying to record 4 channels, Thr, Rud, Ail, Ele. After my first try, it looked like the sticks were swapped (Ail & Ele on left stick, Thr and Rud on right stick). I verified it was not a mode setting.

I thought maybe I calibrated the servos on a different model or something, so I created a new model, recalibrated the servos, and will try again.

I also found that I could not select to show receiver voltage on the dashboard after calibrating the servos. I later discovered this was actually a naming issue.. I reported this problem to EagleTree.

In this shot, the elevator servo is actually the receiver voltage. Notice one servo is still called "servo3"? I think the names just got skewed a little bit.

Come to think of it I am using 6.33, I wonder if we should go to 6.38? My only concern is that they warn that 6.38 could be unstable as it is still in Beta form...

OK, you first :D

BTW- have you checked your fdr file to see if it recorded the servos? You should be able to import the fdr into excel using the data import function of excel, and then selecting delimited with "space" character.

No, but I did finally get it to work by telling the recorder that the other three channels were all the mixture control servo, that way no matter which one it chose to let me record I got what I wanted. :)

Ok, now I have it on an airplane and I can only log throttle/ail and not elev/rud even when I tell it to. Anybody have any idea's?

Probably best to report to Eagle Tree. I was seeing the same issue, but I wasn't able to confirm it before I fried my FDR.. :( Whoops.
