Just picked up a new Rx battery. 4.8v 900 mah Ni-MH. What is the best way to charge this battery to ensure a long healthy life?

Thanks,
Mark

The chemistry changes so quickly that I am not sure this is still correct, but, a couple of years ago the recommended forming charge was 1/10 of the capacity for at least 15 hours.

You're welcome,

I typed "Forming Charge" in the search engine and it brought those up.

Yikes, this link doesn't work for me... Is that 'forming charge' on the DYI Elec. forum search?

For the best forming charge, use your wall-wart charger.

Since it's a 900mAH battery and the average wall-wart puts out about 60mA, you'll need to charge for around 15-16 hours.

There's more information on NiMH cells and forming charges here (http://www.rcmodelreviews.com/baffledbybatteries2.shtml)
