When using the audio input method, the calibration meters in Windows CP and sim software is very jittery. They're solid as a rock when using my Esky 0905A USB dummy TX.

I'd like to use my "real" transmitter on the sims. Is there any jitter in the retail sim cables? I don't want to spend $50 on a cable and end up with the same issue.

The jitter may be down to the resolution of your sound card. USB interfaces would be the preferred choice, but like most things in life, you pay your money and takes your choice, so cheapest isn't always best !
