ive searched around a bit, but im looking for more options for micro sized landing gear... trike or tail dragger..... i know of many "make your own LG" threads but have seen few premade setups....

anyone find anything neat?

The tricycle gear that comes with the star scream works in most AH planes. Plus the Starscream itself is a pretty good plane if you un-mod it according to Lee's thread. The thing is, you'll find it pretty hard to land an airhog in a specific spot... take-offs are fun though. ;)

You can look for tiny hotwheel cars or something in that range. Are these small enough?

SS LG works great, put it on my JS, worked great but for some reason didn
t want to turn...

The added weigh and drag of that LG does seem to have a bigger effect on the jet scream, but it dos work. However it has almost no effect on the Sport, and the sport looks cool with wheels. ;)

While we are in this subject, where can you get the strong, thin wire from? I would rather have stores than websites.

yeah no gear.... i use bits of guitar wire... and this stuff i found at work that is about .42 "..... the best bits seem to come from heavy gauge electric guitar G strings.... :D

i have .28" and .36" trimmings to work with...... you can get a pack of guitar strings pretty cheap....

i had tried the hotwhell etc. idea, and it worked, but i was really looking for the tall skinny type wheels..... these look pretty sweet.....

now im building a set of pontoons with recessed wheels :D

*edit* oh and they do have wire too.... bottom of the page.....

What you want is music wire. It's not actually used to make music, I don't know why they call it that, but craft shops and hobby shops usually have it.

here's what i made tonight.... its all just bits of guitar wire and foam chunks.... i think this wire is .16"..... its quite sturdy though.... maybe not strong enough for head on's..... but if your geometry is good it can be made to be very strong......

i wanted my UBI to RO-anywhere.......(my homemade foam plate wings btw...based on leadfeathers design), looks promising in the garage.... we'll see how it goes :D

The plane in the sink is too cute. Very short runway!

thanks... there just mock-ups, really, mostly to see how much more weight/drag this little guy can haul around... once my rolling fury's airframe dies, i may transplant the gear into something like this for real ROG/ROW....

cheers!
