Hello all.
New here but already have found a lot of good information.
We are starting a uav project based off the Paprazzi Tiny1.3.
I have searched here and only found passing references to Paprazzi.
Has anyone here been involved in a uav project based off either the Tiny 1.3, 2.1 or other Classix autopilot?
Would love to hear lessons learned and alternative sources for components.
Hopefully there isn't already a huge thread on this, and I just glossed right over it.
Thanks.

For whatever reason Paparazzi hasnt been steadily covered here at RCgroups. I suppose its partially my fault for not posting all the accomplishments. I would assume you have checked out the wiki. This is where the most information can be found. The IRC channel typically has a few blokes who know what they are doing as well. My suggestion is to read the source code, and look at getting a premade autopilot from onefastdaddy.

After being subscribed to the Papa mailing list for year, the activity only started picking up last Fall. Before then, it was dead. Seems Europe is now in a UAV frenzy. Loads of government contracts for police surveilance & yes, massive military expansion in Europe. Onefastdaddy is no godaddy. Maybe they should call it papadaddy, or even better, think of something more original than *daddy.

Is any one use Paprazzi Tiny1.3., please let me know how good is to control RC servo using CD4107 chip (Decode Counter/Divider with 10 Decode Outputs). Seems to me most of the control, CLK and reset is done in firmware. As per design up to 10 servos can be control using timer interrupt on the software side. Please let me know if any one used Paprazzi scheme, how was the experience.

Ive used it. Never a problem. Used it on 3 different paparazzi boards. In fact that chip is used on many RC receivers for servo driving, including the Berg4(dont quote me on that, as I do not have one infront of me).

Seems good, I just wrote firmware for using it with my own board, Let see how good it work. My interrupt is around 100 micro seconds, so for 0.5 msec I will get around 5 interrupts, for 2 msec it will be aroud 20 interrupts.

Did you have a bad experience with the onefastdaddy? Curious why the jab with no explanation. I know the name was someone's personal domain before even hearing about Paparazzi. The site for Paparazzi UAV stuff is http://www.ppzuav.com now.
What's nice about Paparazzi is the "Open Source" anyone can download and have complete access to the code. Maybe you like paying licensing fees for your OS or paying for upgrades to it. Fine. There is a large following for free operating systems and even free autopilots.
All PPZUAV is offering is simply a service like RedHat offers for Linux. You are free to build it yourself or have someone build one for you, for a fee. Your project...You can go it alone or join the community around it and learn from/with them.
Seems hardly a reason to be sarcastic.

And www.ppzuav.com redirects to onefastdaddy.com on line store, so they both are one and the same in terms of connecting to the store.
