I want to!

June 21 OR 28 (tbd) in the Detroit River. Goes from the Ambassador Bridge to Dieppe Park in Windsor, with the tugs on display there after. Includes Gaelic Tug's "Shannon", ex Connawango, YTB 388.

Seattles International Tug Race is Saturday, May 10th on the waterfront. I will be there as there will be some new techno tugs pressent from the 2 big rival companies-Foss and Crowley.

I would rather drive to the Soo for the race and parade through the locks.They run several deferent heats and lots of great places to watch from. And a good reason to go (HOME).

I've been in the Detroit Tug Race many times aboard the Tug Magnetic. Its a grand time. I personally like the Detroit Race better than the one at the Soo as all HP classes run at once, not in heats. The result is much more wake, lots of rolling around... more fun. They sort out the times of each vessel to see who placed where in what HP class.

If i'm lucky my boat will be in Detroit for the tug race this year.... Take her out of the notch and come play, but I doubt I have that kind of luck. She's a big girl, would be cool to do that with her.

It's Scott, right? And aren't those a lot of your pix on the Tug Race site?

I'm hoping to get a hold of Briam Williams tomorrow, trying see about maybe having some MODEL tugs show up at Dieppe Park...
