Hello all,
I have been developing the United States Naval Academy's auto-pilot program and have made a lot of progress this semester. The project is very unique. We own all of the software and have integrated a piece of hardware that will eventually waypoint navigate off of radio beacons (PicoDopp). We have breadboarded and "point to point-ed" a flight testable system that we will have in the air by wednesday. Results are looking very promissing. We hope to have all of the inner loops closed by the first fligt test day. So we can start on GPS waypoint nav and eventually utilize the radio direction finder built on to the custom board. We have 9 weeks before graduation so the clock is ticking!
Here is a glimpse of our board that I designed. Its my first circuit board so its kinda messy. Good enough for Government work! errrr flight inspection?
