I'm using the V2 micrologger.

I have the Power panel connected as per the instructions.

It has a problem initializing when I arm the plane. Sometimes it will work flawlessly. More often than not it will either not display anything or it will just show the startup screen. This is kind of frustrating because I use the mAh reading on the panel as a gas gauge. I fly a123 batteries and love to shoot lots of landings. When I come down, it is a quick matter to look at the panel and see how much I have used.

If I remember, I will check on the panel before takeoff. If I forget, though, the panel is blank or has a display that doesn't tell me anything when I look at it. sometimes it will include characters that shouldn't even be on the display.

I am drawing 84 amp peaks through the controller on 12s a123 batteries.

Please help.

Karl

Hi Karl,

Sorry to hear about this issue. Fortunately, it's something we can easily fix, but unfortunately, it requires the panel to be shipped back to us, unless you are comfortable doing SMT soldering.

Please email support@eagletreesystems.com and mention the "black squares" problem and whether you can do SMT soldering, and we'll respond with the next steps.

I flew again yesterday. The panel would not initialize when I armed the plane, but was displaying the start up screen that says "Eagle Tree Systems" when I landed.

Is that still the same problem?

Hi Karl,

That is peculiar. I think it *may* be the same issue, but I have not heard of a symptom like this. I noticed that you have the eLogger V2. The issue I was thinking of is exceedingly rare with the V2, so that makes it less likely to be the culprit.

We may need to get the logger and panel in-house for testing. Could you email support@eagletreesystems.com for an RMA number?

I just tested it in my house with nothing connected to the load terminals of the logger. It started up and displays properly.

When I was at the field, the temperature was around 35-45 deg F. Could the temperature have been an issue?

That's interesting. There should not be a temperature dependence, but perhaps some component in your powerpanel is just a little out of spec. If that's the case, the component update we do for older Powerpanel's for the V3 may well address the issue.

I have eLogger with temp, mag. RPM and Airspeed sensors on glow powered model.

The problem is, I connect the PowerPanel to logger before flight to tach RPM, then disconnect the panel and after flight PowerPanel doesn't show max readings at all.

The other question is, how PowerPanel should be configurated to change between max readings and Live data on 5sec interval. There is no such setting on the version of PC software that I have.

Hi Mascot,

There are a few options for setting Max display. Which one are you using?

Right now, there is not an option to switch between live and max every 5 seconds, but that sounds like a good thing for us to add!

I have chosen the disconnect TMPa option. I'm powering the eLogger through the deans plug so I can log RX voltage also. I'm using 5cell 2100mAh RX pack.

This max reading problem is so far only problem I've had with eLogger. It was definitely worth buying because I don't need to carry tachometer anymore and there in no fighting with friends of was it 100MPH or 120MPH... And Engine temp is nice to know data (my engine cooling IS working properly)...

Hi Mascot,

Glad to hear you like the eLogger, thanks!!

Are you saying that when you disconnect TempA, max values are NOT displayed, even though the PowerPanel is connected?

On a RPM check before flight the Power panel connected and TMPa disconnected Max readings are flashing, then I disconnect the PowerPanel and go flying. After flight logger is still recording and I connect PowerPanel second time for this session, the MAX readings are not shown when I unplug the TMPa...

Can this be because I daisychain the PowerPanel with Airspeed sensor?
