Hi,
Do you guys have any plans to add downlink support for the Micrologger, i.e. an RF link for the LCD Panel. Or do you plan to keep the downlink as one of the reasons for upgrading to the more advanced loggers ?
Cheers, Cam.

I'm also using an E-Logger V2 since over a year with great success but I'm also waiting hard for a simple serial output of the data on the E-Logger for reading in with a self-made downlink controller.

I did spy this thread (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=652526&page=4) which looks like DIY success at the task, I was just trying to avoid DIY.

Or do you plan to keep the downlink as one of the reasons for upgrading to the more advanced loggers ?I'm sure they'll do it if there is sufficient demand. It might help to tell them specifically what telemetry you need. Seems to me that the primary applications for telemetry are airspeed and variometer. When you add those sensors to the eLogger, it costs almost as much as their standard FDR. Is it worth another 40 bucks for a nicely integrated package that has those sensors built in, along with support for the downlink system?

Ideally I would like the option to have remote access to all the figures the LCD panel can display locally. I did think of going for the further up the range loggers, in fact I would still love to but one thing stops me, size. I have hardly any models I could fit the bigger logger in, but the micrologger will fit just about any of them.

Makes sense. I'm a gram watcher myself (micro helis). I guess that's where the demand gets fuzzy. If a model is too small to hold the standard logger, it's probably too small to fly at a distance where many folks would need telemetry? I guess it depends on your specific model and application.
On this topic...I'd love to have a bluetooth downlink in the elogger. Just for wireless convenience on the bench. This would give a little more flexibility to mount the elogger in a position where the usb connector is not easily accessible.

Fair point, but can think of a few exceptions, if you are remote piloting the size of the model wouldn't matter as much, and some of the quick 2-3 meter span gliders have very thin fuzs, about 2/3rd the width of the larger logger.
Bluetooth is a nice idea thou, as you say would make for a very easy life, also wondered about an SD card interface, dare say both of them could be implemented as addons or possibly in the Mk4 or Mk5 :)

Yeah. I think your best bet is to contact Eagle Tree with those specific models, or even better, to rally some other owners of those models who want this. ET seems pretty smart about their products. I imagine they would pursue a clear market opportunity for eLogger telemetry upgrades...

I was hoping to rally a bit of support with this thread but it looks like it's just me and helitron. So the call goes out, if you fancy it as an option say "yo" below.

I think a ton of people would be interested in this, it's just that most people don't read this forum on a regular basis(i happened by today by dumb luck).
With more and more people flying A123s with their steep drop-off in voltage this would be really useful. I've been thinking about a downlink to monitor the current consumption while flying, timing the flight usually works but having a "fuel gauge" on the ground would give me that extra confidence.

Even looking at the micrologger V3 the LCD connection is labeled "LCD/TX", surely this means there was at least an leaning towards developing it ? any official word ?
They already have the technology in place on the bigger loggers, it can't be that much of a leap if enough of us push for it.
Anyone interested please chip in.
