I know this is the electric conversion section, but there's not a whole lot info about this particular Graupner model. Probably, even less now that Hobby Lobby seems to be out of them or stop carrying the Graupner AT-6 altogether.
Anyway...anyone flying this model with a glow engine? If so, what engine?
I was able to get a Graupner AT-6 around Christmas time because Hobby Lobby sent me a 20% off anything in stock, coupon. That brought the price down to $160. Although, even after opening the box, I'd say that even $199 was a fair price for this airplane.
However, I plan to build mine with a glow motor. It seems that I read somewhere that it required a .60 size motor. But actually requires a .45. I've got three brand new engines to choose from; a SuperTigre .46ABC, an OS Max 55 AX, and a SuperTigre .61.
I'm thinking the OS Max 55 AX would be the way to go. Lots of power in a fairly small package. It should be able to swing the Graupner 12.5x6 prop pretty well. Haven't actually tried it yet. I like the Graupner props because they tend to look a tad more scale for this particular WWII aircraft.
Any thought, anyone?
