there are two sloping sites that a group of us use. They are both on the east side of the Susquehanna river. The first is at a park called breezy view. The second is at a place called turkey hill and has the best lift. i am including a link to a weather station about 100 yards behind the site. Good wind is wnw to ene. The sad news is the air is best from early fall to early spring and April might be too late to fly. Oh yes, columbia is about two hours sw of Easton.

I'm from bethlehem, pa which is 20 minutes west of easton. There are a few of us who fly thermal and slope and many who fly electrics. Our main thermal field is between bethlehem and easton. Still is is a bit cold and soggy (it's rained alot lately) for thermalling at that site. Our main slope sites are 30 - 40 minutes northwest of easton on the blue moutain range. We need a mostly north wind to fly here but I have found that they are plentiful in the spring. A couple of downsides to these locations: One site is a ski slope and there will still likely be a ton of snow on top which makes it impossible to drive to. The other site requires a 30 minute hike on the appalachian trial. This would not be good for someone with physical limitations that would preclude them traversing up and down rocky inclines. Anyway, whether permitting I will likely be getting out for some discus lauch and / or slope flying in the time you are here. And with daylight savings time upon us we may not have to wait for the weekends!
If you are interested please Private Message me with your availabilty and a way to contact you while you are on the road.

The LVRCS field is near Easton. , PA. We fly all kinds of planes from gliders to giant scale. Send me PM when you are in town, and I'll throw a winch and retriever (and a few sailplanes) in the car and meet you at the field. Visit our website at lvrcs.com (http://www.lvrcs.com)for directions.
