View Full Version : Interferance

Hi Guys

Wondering if anyone can give advice.

I am running a ofshore v hull with a 25cc cy motor,at this weekends
racemeet I started to get interferance.
This eventualy resulted in a runaway, after checking all the obvious
things I tried again, done about 7 laps no problem, then it locked into a
tight circle.
Luckily I was able to shut it down.

The question is now where and how does one start looking for the
problem without just replacing things,at a relativly high cost.

Thanks

Obviously you have checked both RX and TX batteries, that is usually
where I would start. Sometimes if you have your receiver too close to
a servo, you will get interference, do you run an FM or AM radio??
Generally the AM is more prone to random bouts of interference, FM not
so much however I have heard some pretty good things from the Spectrum
radios at 2.4ghz.
I have also read from some of the flying guys that if you have a
frequency really close to anothers frequency that is running with
you(within 1 number either side of yours), there can be clashes there
too, so as a result, they only allow every second numbered air
frequency to be used.

 deestingray

I have a SANWA M8 radio with a sanwa 40 mhz reciever,I also have a
Spectrum 2.4ghz module that fits onto it.However I have been advised
against using it in a boat with a spark ignition. However it used to
work great in my r.c. cars.Do you reckon its worth giving it a try,at
this stage I dont think I have much to loose.

Cheers
Gavin

You need a shielded spark plug cover! The alternative is a PCM radio.

Is your ignition shielded...specially the spark plug? Ignition engines can
give radios fits. One solution is to use PCM rather than PPM
