I've been trying to find aerial photographs from the American Revolutionary War on Ebay, but so far have had no luck. I'm interested in any photographs from the war, whether it's battlefield scenes, aerial dogfights, or aircraft, pilots, or their equiptment on the ground.

Aerial pictures of the American Revolutionary War.

The airplane wasn't invented yet.

Neither was the camera.

It would make it kind of difficult to have something like that on Ebay.

Actually You meant the first world war right? They had cameras and lot of planes. I do belive there were cameras when Lincoln was president. But no airplanes

My great great great great grandfather, Mason Dixon (not the civil one) , flew for both sides during the war.
His photo album was eventually passed on to me.

Some great shots... shoot me an email. ;)

In the civil war they did use balloons to take photos and watch the battles.

I'm usually pretty good on the net and I'm a history fan, but I've only been able to find a few US civil war aerial pics (none from the rev war). No mention of the plane type was given. Enjoy:
