View Full Version : Futaba GV1 governor and SERVO issue

I've been using the Futaba GV1 governor with a JR DS8321 and have
recently had a problem I am trying now to resovle. The throttle servo
seems to get stuck and not respond at all to the throttle. I've
completely bypassed the Futaba and still have the problem. Thus I now
suspect that either the servo has failed or the receiver. I don't
believe it to be the receiver as when I manually move the throttle
servo arm (while stuck) I seem to be able to free it up and it
operates fine for a while.

I've never had a servo failure before and I suspicious that the
governor might have damaged the servo. I'm thinking that perhaps the
constant throttle adjusting that the governor is doing might hurt the
servo. So my questions are:

1. Has anyone else experienced this issue with the Futaba governor ?
2. Do I need a special type of servo to use with this governor ?
3. Is this a common type of servo failure?

Thanks in advance for your sage advice.

I'm pretty sure it's the servo.
I had the excact same thing happen to me with the 8321 servo earlier this
year.

I think you can use any servo on the governor. I use an old JR 2700 servo on
my Futura Nova, and a HiTec 525 on my Raptor 50. It's best if the throttle
servo is faster than your pitch servo though.
